Derek Alexander Smith

Derek is a valued team member who performs flawlessly on specialized projects in the marketing, graphic design, and technology divisions. Derek adds great value to each of these divisions as the “go to” guy who tackles whatever task is given to him with enthusiasm, dedication and imaginative expertise.  His leadership, communication and teamwork skills are second to none.

Derek serves as a highly skilled associate network engineer and he also provides consistent support for the creative design, and search engine optimization teams. Simply put Derek is the guy each team constantly pulls on to help them get their project accomplished faster, in-budget, before deadline and with the highest quality possible.

Prior to joining Vega Prime, Derek worked in multiple departments for Best Buy and dedicated substantial time to various community volunteer programs. He is also a senior in the University of Georgia’s pre-med program and will graduate in 2008 with outstanding grades and many extra-curricular accomplishments. 

On the fun side, Derek has participated throughout his life in several theatrical performances and performs weekly as an avid member of the UGA improvisational team.  Other hobbies include running, working-out to stay in top physical condition and occasionally fishing and canoeing as time permits.
